Today it’s time to say goodbye to India and fly home!
Tony below the bougainvilleas right before our last breakfast at Lutyens guesthouse, the temperature is around 40 degrees Celsius at 9 o’clock in the morning.Cool flower, 3m high. The lizard slayer from the other day, here very focused on the parakeets. The other day, the couple from Germany/Austria mentioned a missing sock. The dogs of course, they had their way with it, then left it on the lawn. Our view from the room, time to fetch the luggage. The cab was small, had no suspension left and was loaded with us two + 100kg luggage. Tony suspected that the clutch was gone as well. We made it to the airport in good time nevertheless, and the most important car-feature worked well, the AC! Gandhi said फिर मिलेंगे (see you later).Tony pays the Sikh and thanks him for the journey.
Are these elephants really cast in bronze? In Sweden, they would cost a fortune to produce!
So far smooth sailing through Indira Gandhi Airport. At the check-in, we wonder a bit about not bringing a coconut in the luggage?! Is it likely to explode? It’s a bit confusing with the flight information in hindi. Joanna has a light lunch: idlis with the three sauces tomatoe, coconut and mint. This meal seemed to be the only dairy- and soy-free alternative at the airport. This might be the warmest day we will ever encounter. Hope so anyway!
Sunshine and clouds during Asian afternoon visavi European evening.
The stewardesses are very nicely dressed at Air India, and the flight is prolongued with two hours as we have to fly south of Pakistan due to the recent tensions.
Sunset in Copenhagen at 9 in the evening Scandinavian time. In India, it is 00.30 am and we are very sleepy. We arrive home at 3 in the morning Indian time – it is 11.30 pm in Sweden.
The next day: Yes, this is a Thursday, late may, Sweden. 7,5 degrees Celsius. And our newly bought Indian carpet is out for airing. And then, Ned, the first (ok, second…) glass of red in a month, as discussed. 🙂
